Mortally Bound
by Widdershins
Age Group: Adult
New trance line of thought
had ruptured the inevitable calm
and with the wind she sighed not once,
but desolately watched the storm come on
through the painted veils before her eyes
she’d seen the mountains come forth
and within their frosty tops was born
the new echoes of remorse
twice around she’d pathed the world
and silenced protesting wings
that they had not been used at all
to capture and coagulate such things…
immaterial as they be,
she’d sought the silence of the seas
and on the shores she’d found awaiting
the gloat of streams forgetting her
the sweet song that had once danced
playfully upon the lips of the cave
had not called out the monstrous form
so that his evil may be staved.
The uncaring and unkind of the willow’s haunt
had not rested a moment to seek for a taunt
yet as each moment passed on…
the shapes grew blurry, the stars
in wrath blew fury
through the mouths of unsuspecting wraiths…
messengers each alike in kind
yet all differing in thought and mind
all but two, mortally bound
but never to leave the safety of ground.
