Manifest my lonely yearning

You remain undescribed, my yearning
my gentle foliage in the night breeze
my soft expectations of lonely paths,
though lonely you’ve always been…
and always as such have you left me…
though your dark shores are forever lapping
gently against the rocks of thought in my mind…
you’d never turned out to be
all I’d hoped for and sought on the outside…
you remained my dream, but I haven’t seen you
in anyone I’d encountered… why? I’d thought
you’d be my mark, my path to tread on
but out here… the fantasy has died…
just a distant, cosmic dream
forever hidden and unseen,
masked by the pains of continuing on
forgetting what I am looking for…
such a magical journey, is yours
the one I’ve chosen as my inside path
but as soon as you see the outside
you lick into hell as your shielding
and you become… something else…
not a mere lonely yearning,
but a hellstorm now burning to get out
of my life and into the starspread sky…
the escape from this physical world,
back into the refuge of my heart and mind.
Within this birthplace of yours,
you manifest in no eyes, no jaw, no heart
but always standing alone inside me
waiting for a chance to try again to make
out of dream
a reality…
