Indulging in pointlessness

Indulging in pointlessness,
I realized what a cold hearted monster
you can make me at times…
your love is a poison that spreads through me
like a cancerous disease…
oh, what’s the point in existing
without you? my little subject
of tireless odes, you little socializer,
belonging to such a strange world…
…brought tears to lovely eyes,
of all sentiments, it was yours
over me – why?…
so you do care… and it just makes
it so much worse…
my anger
is the only emotion left in me
but so overwhelming—
I cannot begin to describe
what fury you induce, you monster
how dare you presume
that this’ll be your salvation in my eyes…
though I was never meant to know
even this much, but I ask you why…
had you thought it through,
and not done as you have,
this would have meant the world, the sun, the stars…
now it only throws salt on my open scars…

Author's Notes: This is the darker side of "Fool me just this once...". Same thing, different, and more frequent reaction whenever I think back to it... and it still tirelessly plagues me.
