I. Depression the Molester

by Widdershins

Age Group: Adult

Deep within a Heart does fester
the grotesque of the Molester
Depression keyed in
going for the kill, an ultimate win
understanding the horrors of loneliness
feelings fit to smolder, no less
but Depression gains and sinks its teeth in
killing all memory of Joy, its twin
and lost, frozen in the terror of black
all motivation is lost to win her back…
Depression sits like a grimy king
eradicating all sense of feeling
and in its wake Confusion settles
prickling numbness inside as a bouquet of nettles

…all woe and pain seem distant and dimmed…
and no escape presents itself
in the twilight of stars,
the shaking boundaries
of morbid elation closing in…

Enter Panic, and the stage is set
searching deep for despair one cannot forget,
and Depression introduces his dark lady-wife—
in the shimmering, settling dust appears Lady Strife
in the duo’s majestic play of kings, queens and courts
does Heart find not a trace of Solace or Comfort
their immortal execution is Depression’s talent of grandeur
as the horrific drama does patiently unfurl
but as always, the Fool slips inside to the save
and – undead – buries the sisters in an airborne grave
but to be the Fool of the Court is to make the fool
using trickery and delusions as its clever tool
and Depression thus finds his own mockery stowed
on the very grave he had just sold.
As planned by the Fool, Lord Anger steps in, and
without a shake or a tremble challenges the king
Depression’s fury mingles and erupts into hell with Lord Anger’s
until he can bear the fire consuming him no longer
…and so had ended Depression’s oppressive reign
without guarantee that he shall never return again
for this exile is known for his cruel wit
and no Fool can tell me that I’m done with it…

Author's Notes: Interesting story behind this, and its inspiration (odd though it may sound upon first hearing) , but if you're really curious as to it email me or something =P

As a note... writing about depression, sadness, etc., etc., it's my way of coping with it. Sometimes I've found things to be so unbearable, and the only way I could bring myself out of it was writing about it. Besides, it's fascinating... XD

Comments, queries and the rest... as usual, welcome... ^^
