Abhorring to the final breath
by Widdershins
Age Group: Adult
Wraithlike and strengthened
by lifeblood of creatures
strange and featureless in their
anonymous drain
cantering against the banisters
being fiendishly waved
what a pointless squiggle
is the insensitive remark on the page
the jarred convulsive and repulsive
of the heartless tickle in the cage
stories posted to quell belief
and stir memories of unwitting grief
such is the nature of the rounded ply
buried in a tomb covered with rye
songless and tweaking indulge
in the corruption of innovation
the crooning maroon under a steady gaze
silvered over with wispy glaze
such had entered my sightless peripheral
a world worked by machine and coarseness
the hoarse throats screaming decadently
in the lone nights lost ever so sweetly
to the knaves embittered in the dark waves
and forever to remain so deeply
in the ashen and ghostly grave.
