Fascinating manipulative words

Fascinated
like a killer with death
I walk close to this verbal ledge, and…
resist the temptation
to see what lies beyond…
Fascinating…
what I can do with silky and sultry speech
so obscure, so easy to wield…
what could I create masterfully
with a single hint or a pause
certain words dressed up in a sentence
inducing infliction on all senses
yes, I can effect them all…
Like dark eyes dwelling long on a victim
a lick of hungry lips to bite them
so close I can taste them, how I long
to create them…
what can it show me, how easily
I can unravel a world
how simple it is to watch it unfurl
like a cosmic trance entrapped
in one eternal dance, explosive
and dangerously close
yet so mutable and beautiful
its acidic touch melts at a glance,
forms with a thought, just watch close
not to let the temptation be too biting
sinking too deep and inciting
inviting me to push too far,
and see
what’s beyond
the layer where I can dance with a sword
and touch my prey, so easily
so silkily… and deadly
A word, a lethal weapon
such mundane associations, and yet…
so comfortably uttered
because its description never really mattered
it lives
in itself alone…
