Waiting to be filled by you…

The loop of seasons—
one going now, never the same
the early feel of passing markers,
until every moment
is so sodden with overflowing memory
that each scent bears meaning
to thousands of times before…
and not much time has actually passed,
this is the quality of today’s lore…
when the images are overpowering
oh… like the ring, going onward
of some telephone, how strange this call…
the voice passes through me,
and the hand of logic translates…
too good, not rightfully so…
haunting voices puncture the moments,
and the unshakable meanings drive me insane…
just go away, all of you talismans
of my feelings from another day
your music soothes only a part
stuck somewhere in a linear limbo
between being a whole person,
who is never capable
of being entirely whole…
extracting the corrupted moments,
separating them from the taint
restarting, retrying, going on
and bringing myself out of hiding…
the world has seen enough of my masks
and there’s a time to let them fail
there’s a moment where I become the truth
and no shoddy replacements will do…
only the true, the separate, the closed gaps
can make up for all the experiences I lack
denied once, now my second chance…
and I take it into my shaking hands, yes…
this no longer is attached
as all of me,
let it be free
and the air I breathe, encumbered
by sunshine and flowers, the early warmth
it is early… and for once, I see it for me
as a chance…
solitary do no good and wary,
not my style to tickle the fancy
so trudging on in nonexistent snow…
I follow wherever you choose to go…
and I’ll be there, truly
not in hiding or chaotic musings,
all can see—
it’s just me… not any prong that pokes
fun at me, entirely for my own sake
snaking out into everyone’s direction, but
my own humility
is only humiliating me…
my stance is for my sake alone
its design complete and whole
to set a reminder for my acting hands,
that to bind these moments…
I need merely to free the landscapes from pangs,
and I may set them back into the empty slots,
of waiting for fills and thrills,
and to pack them true…
new places now, unseen,
waiting to be filled
by memories of you.
