Depressed lover

He was silently staring at the ceiling,
my lover, never proclaimed to be depressed
he folded his arms behind his head,
staring at exactly nothing,
no waver to betray interest
direction is always upward, though
I can see his heart sinking below
its the moment when I feel… so incredibly alone…
He was silently staring at the ceiling,
while I worked hard to excel in everything
he only spoke to say its time to go,
and within me then died… everything.
Another day passed by in melancholy,
another inexplicable rain
another smoldering emotion like his jealousy,
coming to haunt him again, and again…
He stared up at the ceiling,
didn’t say a word…
and my dying screams of quiet agony
passed by his ears and brushed his lips—
unheard.
