A Lonely Poem

Age Group: Adult
Utter loneliness is complete when:
All the smiles are gone
Every face is missing
Each tedium is not witnessed
The numerous annoying details are lost
Not even the dull throbbing of your head comes anymore
Because its cause has fled
That is what it is to miss someone.
It is truly desperate when:
Everything you hated is sorely missed
All the sentences you willed not to be formed by others pass your own lips
Each painful state of mind is brought back mixed with nostalgia
Every deed the other wished done is complete by your hand
Even though you hated it so
That is what it is to miss a place.
It is a sad feeling when:
Every distant word you cling to like a holy scripture
Each letter received is kept at all times by your bedside
So you can stare at it all night to help you cry yourself to sleep
All your memories are being replayed over and over
The various objects from the time when you were together are grasped in your hands
That is what it is to miss a time.
Author's Notes: If you don’t know what this feels like, you are just about the luckiest person on the Earth. I wrote this for those of you who have, because I suffer from it too. Strength to all of you.
