Édes Ananász

by Widdershins
 Age Group: Adult

Ananász karikák Édes és sárga Fölvágva... Akár igazi akár mü; Mindig van benne valami sürü; Áramlás... Ó, az ananász!
The answer to a questioning mind Who completed a task unique in its kind A task difficult and fun Yet now you can be asured that the task is done!
But one more question unchanged What is that word, that question remains Ananász which I speak of here Pineapple indeed, to you it was clear!
You questioned whether truth your mind spoke When I did this "something" invoke A poem I dedicated to it for reasons I still cannot fathom Let me assure you, my mind can be quite random!
Yet even as I picked out an unlikely word You did not think it so absurd And did translate it into languages more known And your brilliance here is shown!
Now my poem I have more faith in It was not an absurdity to even it begin Though an interesting poem it was I could never figure out its exact cause
One of the poems I prize most among my own Was the category it would to me have been known For not planned out nor thought of when I wrote From within it came, with a side note
The pineapple arrived unexpectedly, it did And now am I grateful for this as I bang on can lids I think I like rhyming much too much For I see I have written on and on without keeping watch!
Author's Notes: Azt a mindenit! I take my hat off to you, as a Hungarian saying says! :D No small feat, I tell you. 2 hours! Wow... I should do that with German... *muse*
You are most definately not out of your mind, you are sound: for ananász indeed means pineapple! :D:D:D
Heh, I categorize my poems on my own computer (I can never find any of them otherwise, there are so many!) and one category I call 'Works of Art' which is not to say that they are, but they are my favorites. Well, my dad thinks they are. :) All of them are random, I never plan any of it, I just base it on a feeling, yet even so it's more than just 'jotting down whatever comes to mind'. Other poems I have written belong to a 'Speculation' category... as part of my transformation that has just completed a cycle on my last birthday (what a day that was! And not even because it was a birthday) and right around then as this circle was coming to a close, I wrote a poem that I really, really liked. It suited me for what mood I was in almost constantly at that time (I posted it here too: Why She Tells Tales In Wind's Breath) and since that 'breakthrough' of writing poetry that I didn't dislike I wrote a whole series. Sadly, I never got around to posting all of them, but there are a few here and there. [Ok, I talk a lot...] Ok, I liked Winter Chill as well. Come to think of it, I translated that into Hungarian (it came out hilarious, the original is rather ironic) I tried to post it here, but the server mistook some Hungarian words to be English swearwords so I gave up. [An entirely seperate story] Hm, I might try again... Anyway, my POINT (ahem, Sheila, going off topic like that again... grr.) , why I said all this: Váratlanul érkezet az ananász (by the by, no mistake in capitalization, in Hungarian you only capitalize the first word) belongs to that cateogry. I think. I'm a bit unsteady with Hungarian poems I write, since my English vocab is far more advanced (even than the standard for my age, I just love English so much... *grin*) than my Hungarian. Well, in my opinion at least. (Changing though, since I live here now...)
Ok, ok, I'll stop. :D
Dag the nabbit, it won't post long accents. >:P Oh, well. In the 4th and 5th lines, the words that have this letter: ü is supposed to be long.
