To The Unborn

Believe me dearest I was here
Shooing the ghosts from under the bed
I scuttled the lizard off the wall
That held your fear filled gaze long enough.
Baldy, chubby you non-life
Could you hear my humming
To your gurgling songs?
I always lost myself to your toothless smile
Whilst you gripped my fingers awhile.
Must you cycle on the bed?
When I tickled your padded feet
I smelt of my milk on your lips
When I powdered your tiny chest.
Darling, you were there, but not,
I made you, yet I could not
Foolish Ma of yours snatched your birth
As she failed to tame her pressure high.
Believe me dearest you are there
When you see me with everyone
Each time you smile and greet life
Through me each morn till night.
Know that
I loved, I loved, I loved you the most
Believe me
I miss, I miss, I miss You my part lost.
