To keep throwing loaves
into the mouth of homopotamus
I recycle words, eight solar hours
unhindered by woofs, meows
soprano brays of co workers
molesting my auditory powers.
I, a word vending machine
keep the pistons running
in lieu of inserted pay cheques
the fringe includes
in-house humbugs, roaches
with banal scents and sounds.
Colleagues, civil and decent
keep covered themselves well
each has their back criss-crossed
by stabs of knives, yet
last year seven died.
Wonderful, their working style
surging forward by looking back
ten cents lecture on one cent work
walking with programmed octopad
which plays automatic, seeing
victims with pocket ragged.
The end of the day sees
figures in hooded cloaks
skidding to respective lairs
becoming mangled trees
drinking potions of fire.
It has gone back
Eliot, from your Wasteland
to Milton’s Pandemonium
The Ganga is just a drain
The Himawat, no more arcane.
Each day, chunks of
once mighty Indus civilization
flushes into the drain
each day, the Satan tempts
a new born, with renewed gumption.
Each day, the sin expels
all hopes of a good Aryan
each day, a new pyre
is fed to hellish the cauldron.
If this be, today’s truth
What holds for tomorrow;
let me lose memories
no more to remember
the way back home.
