The Downpour.

Age Group: Adult
Such vast expanse
this dismal desert.
Raging sun chars
violent wind pricks
juicy skin withered
succulent mind parched
pounding heart shrunk.
Does the carcass
look offensive?
Are the preying
vultures merciless?
Is there no Oasis
to balm a scarred soul?
Is there a trench
to bury the dead?
The faltering feet
struggles in the
ever changing dunes.
How to cross the cursed
land, not getting lost
in the confused maze?
Do I see a spirited shade
with red wine flowing?
Are those Bella Donnas
which numbs the pain?
It sure must be, the
divine Poppies pledging
freedom, in lieu of
my imprisonment.
If only few drops
could downpour
if only clear pearls
could wash and lash as before.
The music could flow
the singer could glow.
Yet, it is not to be
yet, it could never be...
