Evergreen

Ever Green
Walking through the valley
Of ages past and ages to come
I see the evergreens blurring in the wind
Which is not to be felt on my skin
Pacing forward and back, retracing my steps
Hoping to find my ever hidden mistake
But as I see her, all awareness fades
Of steps to make
Instead I float in an instant to her face
Only to find it unrecognizable
I touch and feel and ask
Begging for her to answer
Yet she smiles
Waiting for me to comprehend
That I feel what she feels
I know what my answers are
As they lay inside of me
Finally realizing I see her; me
I face my soul
My past and my future
All is still
Yet time passes by
Leaving the questions blurred
But the answers clear
I rest in the valley of ages past
And ages yet to come
