The Great Goddess

Great Mother you are everywhere at all times,
You hold the earth tenderly in your loving arms,
The forests and the secret glades are ever yours,
Among the trees and undergrowth your children play,
Sacred Mother of all.
As I walk in the quiet of nature I can feel your presence,
I meditate in the calm of the setting sun in my quiet place,
Great Goddess I can feel you there even as I do my ritual,
Your peace is my peace and I have never been happier,
Sacred Mother you still my fears and worries.
To that sacred grove I do respectfully make my way,
With an offering I come so that I might not offend you,
I wait on the edges of that special place a little while,
To ready myself and seek your permission Great Mother,
To enter your domain again.
Then as I walk beneath those ancient trees again I feel,
The rush of excitement and the tingle of magick in the air,
About me the Good Folk frolick and dance ever on and on,
I can feel them there but as yet they are not shown to me,
Great Mother I seek to honour you.
To this sacred place I do often come to do my rituals,
Always leaving a gift behind to thank the Great Mother,
Magick hums in the air and runs down into my body,
This place is my shrine to the Mother of All,
Great Mother I hear your voice and cry your tears.
Author's Notes: This poem was written to be a personal tribute to the Goddess, I hope everyone likes it.
