Winter- A Haikai

Winter is dawning,
soon the cold will return again,
and paint the grass white.
Cold and icy ground,
crunching beneath an old boot,
the cold is very good.
Gone is summer’s heat,
now comes winter’s long white cloak,
wrapping all the land.
Welcome my old friend,
to the world you have long missed,
winter dawns once more.
