A New Season Dawns
by Darach
Age Group: Adult
As the warm sun shines down upon my upturned face,
I smile and welcome the new season,
Spring, perhaps the fairest of all seasons.
Great Lugh smiles down upon us and turns his face to us,
He has banished the cold and little death of winter.
All about there are signs of budding new life,
Little lambs frolick and dance in the fresh green paddocks,
While Lugh's little ones sing with delight.
As Lugh is reborn as Ostara draws near,
So too if the great earth that is so dear to him.
Beneath the spring sun I dance and rejoice,
No more is our home gripped by the icy cold of winter,
The birds sing and rejoice in the new found warmth.
I bid the cold season farewell until another time,
My heart is glad for this new season.
As the gracious Goddess welcomes her mate and consort,
So do I as I walk among the God's sacred places,
Feeling once again his warm and caring embrace as I walk.
The wheel of the year turns once more,
Welcome the spring!
