ode to fireflies

little fireflies, dance before me just this night,
take away from me all seeds of loneliness,
take me to the world where all dreams meet.
somewhere far by far, my love lay sleeping,
tell me how to hold again his heart?
little fireflies tell me about your magnificence,
is it the darkness that surrounds you or
is it the fire in your tail?
what is it about you that enchants me,
will it also bring me closer again to him?
universe inside me, i wait here in silence,
I contemplate the mystery in your dance.
I begin to smile, my heart begins to hope
that somewhere far by far, as he lay dreaming
my Love somehow knows.
do all these thoughts flowing from my pen,
do all these feelings ever unknown to him?
i wait here, wondering.
Author's Notes: june 17, 2006. for Ron. thank you for the firefly pic you just sent me, it made me feel better and has just inspired me now to write another poem....
