My Blue Spell

Age Group: Adult
i spent many years sitting with her, picking flowers-
breathing into her my last witch hours,
without her knowing i was giving her-
pouring into her my very own spirit.
many lonely nights we sat together
she cried to me and i understood
all the pains she kept inside her,
all the times she sat waiting
for her long lost friend to come back
and take her away, but he didn't.
she said she's tired living,
wouldn't i just let her rest
forever sleep in the daisy fields?
soon enough rain shall wash away her thoughts,
and the wind shall carry her weary soul.
as she said these words i could feel
her spirit escaping, all life from her draining;
in tears i struggled more weaving my spell,
though she whispered nothing could be undone-
she already lose him and shall not return.
she said she's tired waiting,
wouldn't i just let her rest
forever sleep in the daisy fields?
soon enough gossamer wings shall take her-
into the Neverland where she would go and find him.
and as she closed her eyes to eternal sleep,
i kissed her farewell and in her heart i placed my gift.
Author's Notes: january 5, 2008. this is all about my handwork, a crosstitch actually which took me 5 years to finish.
