i wondered if you knew how i felt
each time you passed by me without a smile
not even a look in the eye
i wondered if all was really lost
you seemed unaffected by the growing distance
between you and me
i wondered if you treasured
the way i did the happy times we had together
happy hours in the sun
i wondered if you missed me too
and our friendship untainted by anything then
always just pure fun
i wondered if i hurt you so deep
when i chose to love you the way i had before
and not as my man
and i wondered if you knew
my happiness when you handed me Red Pringles
before you went home today
You walked out the door without a word.
I really could not suppress a smile.
