Upside Down

Inverted cross around my neck
I crossed the street one summer day
Beads of sweat in my forehead
I deliberately bumped a Lady,
Grinning I said to her "‘twas not me!".
Ignoring her I went my way.
I entered the coffee shop
Ordered myself a black coffee,
I sipped but it was too hot
I stirred and added a little creamer
Then deliberately spilled it on the floor
I pretended it was an accident.
The waiter looked bemused,
I tried to look apologetic in return
“Would you like to order another cup, Ma’am?”
”No, thanks. Just give me a glass of water please.”
He came back with a glass of water.
But I was already gone.
