Phantom Pain

Fate brought us together for some unknown reason. I thanked the heavens for making it possible. You had my heart at an instant, yet I tried to fight it, neglected the feeling and kept my mind off you. The connection we had was unexplainable. Neither you nor I could define what it really was. Time took its toll. Once again our path converged. You thanked the Universe for letting us meet. You professed your love. Consistently telling me that you never want to see me poignant, you were always there consoling me unexpectedly. I knew it was fates doing, leading you to me. Never knowing why, was it love? Was it lust? The planets are revolving, they are unstoppable. Change as it is, inevitable. Like summer to fall, spring to winter, continuous. I said to myself, Deal with it, or lose your sanity trying to figure out why things happen. Just like that, you were gone. Now digging deep into the memories of every consoling word you’ve said brings my forlorn heart to its demise. A love leads to another downfall, another twist of faith. So much for anticipating, deeming real love from someone who stole my heart. Thought wrapped in your arms was my home. Hearing you say I am adored was bliss. I never want to see you unhappy; I thought you want the same for me. I declared a moratorium on things relationship. I declared a respite from the toils of liaison. I do need a breather from the flavors of entanglement till you find your way back home, back to me. Phantom pain from my almost lover, Inexorable.
