All at once

The child sits;
Tears streaming down her face.
Defeated;
Pain piercing her heart like a misdirected arrow from Cupid’s bow.
When did love ever go so wrong as this?
To love one who loves another.
Things started out alright.
Friends through thick and thin.
He professed an interest.
She concurred.
Things progressed to love.
Then he stabbed her in the heart.
Another shares his heart.
While her whole being belonged to him.
How is it fair?
That she gave her all to him while he exchanges love with another.
When did things go wrong?
Everything had seemed fine.
They had held hands, and exchanged passionate kisses…
And all the while he was doing the same with another.
Defeated, mistreated, worthless.
The girl sits alone in this cold heartless world filled with love for a man who knows no such thing.
Filled with love for a man who gives his affection freely.
A man who took her first kiss and blew it to another.
There’s always another.
Beware of the other.
Tears come so fast.
Light fading away.
So empty inside.
Nothing left to save.
Alone.
Always alone.
Love never satisfies.
Love doesn’t wait.
It always keeps moving.
Leaving tears in its wake.
Pain is its best friend;
Heartache, as well.
Pierced through with that arrow.
Stupid Cupid strikes again.
