Borderlands

Now Samhain comes, on which the Celt
Saw the dead come closest, so heartfelt
To reach towards the living, on this night
On the borderlands of time and sight.
Now is a parting, to say farewell in grief
For those unmourned, passing by as leaf
Falls unseen in the dark, the winter gale
Swept this away, like unfinished tale.
Now depart the dead, leaving here a mark
As we kindle a candle to lighten the dark
Let them rest in peace, we chant and pray
Lighting the flame, take all fear away.
