You must have hated me.

You must have hated me.
You must have hated me
To keep that secret for so long
You watched me battle every day
When a few words could have made me strong
You saw what life did to me
So many times it came crashing down
But you kept that little secret
Stood and judged with bitter frown
You said that it was just a thought
That you weren’t entirely sure
But still you didn’t tell me
When we could have found out more
You kept the secret from me
Gleefully watched as I’d climb and fall
Did you laugh behind my back?
Tell your friends my sons a fool?
But still it went on and on
Trying to rebuild then falling apart
All the time building walls
About a shattered bitter heart
But then I finally found her
She put her arms around my heart
But because of how you’d ruined me
We almost fell apart.
I found another reason then
For the loneliness and pain
It fitted what I had been through
Showed that I might still be sane
But you hated what that made me
More than you liked your fun
So you thought you’d show me
That 15-year-old smoking gun
You told me that you’d found
Someone who was like me
Awkward in social environment
And a temper quick to free
You really didn’t understand
What you had done to me
All the stress and all those tears
Would never have had to be
Now I have lost all respect
Learned to hate you as you did me
But now all I have is bitterness
There’s nothing left of me
All I see is a careful suicide
The thought spins around my head
Maybe I’ll spoil your bully’s game
When someone finds me dead?
