Why, George?

Why, George?
Why did you do that George?
Steal their votes away?
Was it because you didn’t trust them?
To let your rich cronies play?
Why did you do that George?
You ignored what the experts said
And like scimitars flash the planes hit home
And the three thousand lay dead
Why did you do that George?
You made a lie into a war
You sent those trusting college kids
To be maimed on a foreign shore
Why did you do that George?
Ignored democracy again
Hid the pictures of the coffins
Ignored a lonely mothers pain
Why did you do that George?
When you knew long days before
You sent the army, but no doctors,
Because the victims were black and poor?
And what will you do next George?
In these stolen days that you have left
Maybe play some more rounds of golf
Ignore the tears of an America bereft?
