Why?

Why must i look towards the sea
and pray that you would think of me?
Believe my dreams to once be true
Why must I always think of you?
Why must your image follow me?
When I wake and in my dreams
Why must your smile cut me inside?
Why must the wounds be opened wide?
Couldn't you just look at me?
And see me as I want to be
Hold me in your arms and feel
the love that caused these wounds so real
Why can't the tears I cry at night
be kissed away
as you hold me tight...
