Time

Time
The sandpaper wearing away at the heart
Until all feeling's gone
And nothing's left over
The wound's raw and burning
Till time takes its toll
But sometimes time heals
The wounds will close up
Until you come back
And they're bleeding again
Why won't you go
If you can't stay with me
Why can't time stop
So we're never apart
Why can't time go back
So I'd know not to feel this
Why can't time speed up
To mend my torn heart
Time that was wasted
On kind words you gave me
Words that were lies
You threw straight at me
Now I'm bruised and broken
My heart a cheap token
With all of that time
There was no time for me
