I'm Sorry

I'm sorry for wanting what you couldn't give
I'm sorry I forgot all the good things you did
The times that I hurt you 'cause you thought I would die
The times that the pain I caused pushed me to lies
For the times that I lashed out to hold back my tears
For the times that I flinched because you came too near
I'm sorry that sometimes seeing you caused me pain
to see you
to hear you
showed how I tried in vain
I knew from the start
which began long ago
that these feelings I have would continue to grow
that they'd taunt me
and haunt me
making nightmares so real
I'm sorry I tried
to change how you feel
Some words that you said may have cut me inside
but that doesn't mean that this love hasn't died
It's glowing like embers that burn at my skin
I'm sorry this pain ever had to begin
I'm sorry the mask I wore was just too thin
Dissolved by tears
and eroded by blows
from the second that you
were the one my heart chose
So please take this apology
go on your way
It's so sad to leave you
but I'll be okay
as long as you're happy
I'll be fine too
I'm just sorry I wrote how my heart broke for you
