The Garden of Gaia

The Garden of Gaia
Fresh, alive, luscious, green,
Sweet, moist, odorous, clean.
Roots under the Earth, stretch like veins,
Through Gaias body absorbing the rain.
Flowers for hair, crystals for eyes,
Wind for her voice floating in the sky.
A rustle, a breeze, a tremor, a quake,
These are messages the Goddess makes.
Faith keeps the pulse flowing beneath,
Life in the thickets, life in the heath.
The Earth is alive she breathes like us,
Every footstep she feels, in her we must trust.
Kill the Earth and you kill a girl,
A mother, a crone, a spirit, our world.
Author's Notes: My poem about the wonders of our planet, the Goddess Gaia and how we should protect the planet as though protecting a member of our family.
