The Calling

Age Group: Adult
The Warriors Spirit,
His light burning bright
Stands ready for battle
To give his all in the fight
His heartbeat is racing
But no-more does he fear
He watches his General
The time to march is so near
As the morning sun glimmers
An early mist starts to rise
He grips to his sword's hilt
Pride echoed in his eyes
Everyone ready, electric flows in the air
As if in expectance the wind drops it breeze
Conditions now perfect for archers
Arrows fly true and with ease
The signal we are given
Our steady march we start
We raise and unsheathe our weapons
courage, honour, burns in our hearts
The glory of battle
Swift metal, bright crimson
In our ancestors armour
No cowardice lies hidden
Taking a firm blow
The enemy blade biting deep
Staggered a little clutching the hole
Through which blood starts to seep
With a thunderous roar
The adrenaline flows
Cutting an arrow, out of the air
As it is loosed from its bow
The battle subsides
It has raged on for hours
So many are lost
But for now this day is ours
This is the life that we choose
To guard and protect is my reason
To live and die by the sword
The Warriors path I have chosen
