The First Frost of Fall

The first frost of fall
Biting cold fills the air
and nature knows,
That soon
winter will be here
The time to sleep
and dream
But not yet for this cold
that rimes
the trees
with white
This biting cold
that turns
the ground
to iron
This cold the first frost of fall
This biting cold
that turns
the world
to crystal
This biting cold
that turns the streams
to stone
This cold will not last for long
This biting cold
for the God
still warms
the days
