The Cabaret of Life

Have you ever heard that life's a show?
And we are merely actors on a stage,
Our trials and tribulations turned into song,
Observed like animals in a cage.
Hearts unlocked in soliloquies,
Revealing things we wished we knew,
Truths unearthed in the following acts,
Regardless of the consequences that ensue,
The audience all laugh and clap,
Clearly amused by the farce,
Not knowing real people lie beneath it,
Who are trapped beneath the glass.
