First love.

Love that extacy of feelings
shimmering down the spine.
The first look across a room
eyes meeting, and then looking away
glancing back again,
when you think it's safe.
Legs like jelly you walk across the room
to where she sits. Mouth dry you croak
out the old, old line
"do you want to dance?
And then she is in your arms
and the world stops tuurning
and time stands still.
Then the dance is over and she says
"would you like to walk me home"
And the rest of of your life together
stretches out before you as you walk
the longest route home you can find.
