True Love

Our love began one special night
I hugged your neck, you held me tight.
We danced and danced the night away
And fell in love on that special day.
From that precious moment my life began
I had met a caring and wonderful man
We have had our problems but always come through
Which shows our love is strong and true.
Sometimes I thought you would break my heart
But I know deep down we would never part.
We have talked and laughed, and sometimes cried
And together we have weathered the storm side by side.
You are my friend, my love and my only soul mate
And have been my life, and my world since that special date
I will sacrifice everything I own just to be with you
And I know you will be with me, and will help me through
So from this moment in time we must be strong
And let the current take us along
We must be patient, though we know we want more
But what we will have will have been worth waiting for
So keep this in your mind in everything you do
And very soon our dream will come true
So I just want to tell you I love you with all my heart
And the way I feel about you I know we will never part
Forever yours

Author's Notes: My wonderful girlfriend (Now proud to say my Wife and Soul Mate) wrote this for me. The first and only poem she has done. I think its great and I've never had anyone write a poem for me before. This is so special, just like she is to me.
