Foot and mouth or foot in mouth

Foot and mouth strikes again or is it foot in mouth,
As mans greed and stupidity makes the ultimate mistake.
Leaving black oily smoke spiralling heavenward, as if in supplication to the Gods.
Carcasses smoulder and shrivel in the heat in a parody of sacrifice but as a sacrifice to mammon.
Tell me what Gods would be happy with this sacrifice?
What Gods would find this a pleasant odour to the nostrils?
This is the grim reaper getting his fill of flesh when the only sacrifice we should be celebrating at this time is that of John Barleycorn
