My lover death
by Pangur-ban
Age Group: Adult
Deaths dark shadow comes to all.
But how do you perceive it?
The grim reaper complete with
cowled robe and scythe,
old father time on the weather vane.
But why, under that black robe
that strikes fear into the strongest heart
can there not be the seductive garb of a lover.
For this is what death is sensual and seductive,
a lover waiting with the kiss of death.
She witnessed my birth and that seminal
gasp of breath, as I came squalling into this life.
She was there to witness
my stuttering progress
through lifes journey.
Ready to cut the ties when
it all seemed to much to bear, and the knife edge
called out to end this mortal torment.
She also applauded when I refused
the easy way out and struggled on.
When my time is over and that last gasp of air
is taken she will be there with a lovers kiss
to ease the way through deaths dark veil.
But as that last breath is taken just maybe
the first of a new life is on the way.
