Cry of the Dolphin

Age Group: Adult
A beauty made of mottled grey cries out.
A sound that vibrates amongst your very soul
Tears of joy leap from her eyes.
This beauty of the waves.
Her playful arcs and joyous antics
Her gleeful laugh echoes across the sea.
The waves rejoice at their loving jester
She who cheer all within her sight.
She swims to her friends of the sea
Each one a silvery hue.
Their laughter echoes
Euphoria a blinding power from the sea.
These playful creatures of the ocean
Gather to aid their human friends
They frolic, they jump.
For they love to please
Love to laugh.
However...
If a dolphin can laugh with such intensity
Can she not cry also?
Does she not shed a tear
When her love or child drowns
Or when a member of her family is lost?
Does she not mourn and cry in sorrow?
For surely if there is to be joy in this creature's heart
Then sorrow must reside there also.
Do a dolphin's tears water the reefs?
Yet we see the joy.
Can a dolphin transform her sorrow
Into a droplet of joy?
Does she cry out all her pain and emptiness
So she can be happy towards her human friends?
Blessed be the dolphin
For she provides healing to the sorrowful
Through her playfulness and love.
For she loves us unconditionally
And sees humans as playmates.
Let her love shine through us.
For the dolphin lets out her cry.
To mourn, to heal, a call to play?
Only wisest will know.
Blessed be the dolphin, blessed be.
Author's Notes: Here is a poem dedicated to our ocean friends the dolphins. I love these creatures and before anyone asks it's been proven that swimming with dolphins is therepetic. You've got to love these creatures.
