Ethereal (Part 11) Goodbyes

by Moonlight Wolf
 Age Group: Adult

The day had arrived For the departure. Killian, Seamus, Kathy and Trixie Were ready to leave Karmia.
In Killian's mind they would travel To many remote places, Sharing the Holy Guide, Showing people, Inspiring them. He fantasised about Them listening in An awed silence.
They would reach out to him Thank him And welcome the Holy Guide. The Holy Guide would direct him In saving Karmia From the violence That would enslave it. Surely the Holy Guide Would bring him back Before the violence erupted.
In Seamus's mind they would travel Trying to think of how They could stop the violence from Engulfing Karmia For he was not entirely convinced By Killian's argument That the Holy Guide was The only way.
Surely there was a cause To the violence to come. Perhaps it would be a riot Perhaps it would be an invasion But Seamus was willing Just as much as Killian Yet was not willing To throw himself into Any big commitments just yet.
In Kathy's mind they would travel And see many beautiful people. Although she had great love For Lord Karmia (He was a great man) He had told her not To become overly in love. He was a terribly old man And had a terrible Condition of the heart. (A condition called Kathy they said.)
Kathy knew that The Old Lord's time was short He had advised her To do a little exploring. (Which Kathy said that He should do the exploring Although not of the Travelling kind.)
In Trixie's mind they would travel And have much fun along the way. Karmia had become such A dull old place. It was the same old houses And the same old pub And the same old trees And the same old people. Trixie longed for the new She longed for something different.
Beyond the surrounding trees Beyond the branches And the same everyday Places that she visited, There was more That she was itching to see.
The four of them stood Eagerly waiting.
It was time to say goodbye.
Will smiled with some Form of sarcasm on his face. "Have a good time."He said With a hint of boredom in his voice.
For deep down he was seething For they were all going to leave. What was he to do? Ahead of him was a time Of great boredom. How he wished that he could go But Miss Grissie the fiancee Had strictly forbidden it.
Since the incident at the Haunt She had never let him out On his own.
She was rather afraid That Kathy should snatch Her sweet love away. ("Oh he's anything But sweet, dear." Kathy had told her.)
And so when they had Said their goodbyes To sarcastic old Will, It was time to leave.
Or it was until Kathy Announced that They had not yet Said goodbye to Faye.
Now Killian was reluctant To do so but as they were friends He permitted it.
They trotted over To Faye's house And knocked upon the door.
Faye answered Looking tired and flustered. She took a look at them all.
"Are you going away?" She asked.
Now this was all they needed To know that Killian Had not invited her.
"Why did you not invite Faye As you invited everyone else?" Kathy asked, looking rather hurt.
"Why didn't you let Faye know?" Seamus asked, looking a bit confused.
"Come on Killian." Trixie said. "Do you truly think Faye's that evil?"
Now Killian did not lie On this matter. He simply stated what The Holy Guide had told him.
"Faye is not invited For the Holy Guide says She cannot be purified. Only the worthy can Go on this pilgrimage." He said flatly.
There was a silence And Faye looked rather hurt. However from inside There came a voice, Faye's father calling her.
"Faye, come here." The harsh sound came. "There are many jobs to be done."
She then simply shrugged and said. "Don't mind it. Even if I was invited My father would forbid it."
With that she went inside And they all looked on in sorrow To leave Faye here with that beast. They turned down to leave To head out on their pilgrimage.
Author's Notes: Part 11. Killian seems to be such a killjoy for everyone doesn't he. Oh well, part 12 coming up soon. Hope you enjoyed part 11.
