Ethereal (Part 15) Dream Pollution

by Moonlight Wolf
 Age Group: Adult

Killian settled down to sleep The same night he had yelled at Kathy. And when he slept He dreamed again of the Ho, ly Guide.
Before him was a valley All green and gold Shining in sunlight. Flowers covered every field Hills shone out All bright as emerald.
The sky was a beautiful blue And so excellently clear. In the air was An intoxicating scent Which filled Killian With a feeling of peace.
"Oh Killian My trusted messenger You have done well To warn Kathy to control All her passion and flirtiness."
Killian thanked The Holy Guide.
"You have done well In taking with you Many followers And for increasing The number of pilgrims That follow you to Their own salvation."
Killian thanked The Holy Guide.
"And you have done well In keeping your faith to me The many times that You have been challenged. This is what I thank you Most of all for As you shall be challenged Many more times In the future.
Killian looked up To the sky above And asked.
"Who will challenge me?"
"I can not say right now But I will say How your faith Has put forth mine As someone has Trespassed into sacred grounds."
Killian blinked in confusion.
Then he saw before him Will with an aura of darkness Around his own figure Sending out a stream of The utmost pollution To this beautiful valley.
The flowers died They withered away The hills went From emerald green To dusty brown. The sky above went From a sparkling blue To a deep dark colour And became dotted With the heaviest stormclouds That Killian would ever hope to see.
Killian felt his anger rise How dare Will Whom he'd called friend Trespass and destroy Something so holy and sacred, Something so beautiful and peaceful.
"Will, you are foul For taking away this beauty."
Will just turned And smiled rather snidely Saying in a taunting voice.
"There was no beauty here It was all in your head you idiot."
Killian balled his hands to fists And felt his anger rise up. The indignation of how Will could defame such a place Was beyond his own belief.
Then for a moment He controlled himself. Could he actually expect Anything other of Will?
Will was a cynic And a hard nosed skeptic, He would never accept Anything as holy. All Killian had to do Was ask him to leave (Ever so politely) And that would be that.
However it seemed That the Holy Guide Had other ideas.
"Did Will not laugh at you And not at Faye? Do you remember how He asked Faye about her beliefs Even though they contradict What I want for humanity?"
"He never asked you Of your beliefs And laughed in your face Every time."
"Yet to Faye, he was nothing But polite and courteous. I do think from this That he, like Faye Has turned his face From mine and chosen To label himself As one of my sworn enemies."
Killian felt his breath become short Yes Will had been nicer to Faye Than he had ever been To him or the Holy Guide. All he had got was scorn and mockery.
By this logic that had been shown By the Holy Guide Killian concluded that Will Was no longer fit To be thought of as his friend And severed ties, in his mind With Will the cynic.
He woke up Feeling like a hard man With a mission to complete That had been set for him By the Holy Guide.
