Ethereal (Part 27) Possession

Age Group: Adult
Rage built in Killian's mind
It built within his body
He saw red in front of him
And was ready to prove to them all
The existance of
The Holy Guide.
"Oh Holy Guide
Powerful and gracious
Allow me to show
Both the faithful and the fools
That you exist
By manifesting yourself
Within my body.
Do all you can to win their faith."
He felt heat rising
And felt himself lighten
He felt more passive
And gradually he became
Calm and watching
The Holy Guide show
Its existance to the people.
Seamus, Kathy and Trixie
Watched in bemused amazement
They stepped back
And waited for
The miracle to occur.
Killian felt his arm
Rise up and point
To an old elm tree
And as his arm pointed
The tree burst into flame.
The leaves curled
The bark blackened
And all those who witnessed
Stood back in amazement
And also in fear.
The fire spread to the grass
(This reminded Trixie
Of her nightmare)
And to other trees.
A forest fire was seemingly
Immenant and inevitable.
Heat blazed around them
Smoke shot into the air
As the fire consumed
The forest around them.
Kathy became distressed
When she saw three birds
Trapped by the fire.
It was because of this
She let out a shout.
"I believe you and
I am sorry for what I said.
Now please halt the flames
And I shall remain faithful."
Killian felt his head nod
And his hand wave in the air.
The flames disappeared
The bird were safe
And there was no evidence of fire
Anywhere on the trees.
The leaves remained green
The bark was not charred
And the grass had not been scorched.
There was satisfaction
But who's was it
Killian's or the Holy Guide's.
All were astonished
That a fire could rage
But leave no evidence
Of it ever happening.
Killian felt his mouth open
And the voice of the Holy Guide
Come out.
"All those who walk
My path in faith and trust
Shall recieve my blessing
And my protection.
"But all those who refuse
Shall recieve nothing
But misery and death
Illness and pain
Horror and suffering.
I shall smite the unfaithful
I shall kill those who deny me
So follow me and you shall be safe."
Kathy was frightened
By these words
And she knew that simply stating
One's own faith was not enough.
She had seen through Trixie
That the Holy Guide
Could get inside you.
Seamus was also scared
Not only of the Holy Guide
But of what his friend had become
This was not the Killian he had known
This was not the friend
Who had been there for him
When he had fought with his family.
Where had Killian the kind gone.
Trixie feigned fear.
She knew the Holy Guide existed
She could not deny it.
However she still would not
Even think of following
A spirit that was so cruel
And wicked and had to use
Violence, fear, mind control
To get its own way with people.
To Trixie, Killian was
Now a simple puppet.
A plaything for the Holy Guide
To manipulate to its will
Imprisoned, rather than free.
