Ethereal (Part 32) The List

Age Group: Adult
The woods gradually
Grew more and more
Familiar to them.
Kathy, Trixie and Seamus
All felt two very different feelings.
They were happy that
They were soon
To be home again
To see their families
And look upon all they knew
Yet they were also
Deeply worried
For soon the Holy Guide
Would set out
Its work for them.
Nerves were pushed
To the very top.
Killian stopped
And turned to his crowd
To the people
Who gradually joined
The pilgrimage of purification.
"Before we go further."
He said to them all.
"I must recite the list
Of those who are doomed
To die for refusing
To follow the Holy Guide."
(Trixie rolled her eyes
But was attentive anyway
Wanting to know
Who Killian wanted
To kill.)
"Lord Karmia, a wretched man."
Kathy felt her heart
Drop like a stone
And tried very hard
To fight the tears
That threatened to
Falls from her eyes.
"He is old." Killian said.
"And in his youth
Was a notorious womaniser
Sometimes having
Three at once.
This the Holy Guide
Showed me in a vision."
Kathy let out a
High pitched shriek.
She did not want to believe
That the man she loved
Had womanised and philandered
Been with many before her.
Yet the Holy Guide said so.
Had it not been right
About the bar fight.
Had it not possessed Killian
To prove that it existed
And had incredible power.
All Kathy could do was sob.
"Will is also a doomed man."
Killian went on.
At this Seamus winced
Had Will not been both
His and Killian's friend?
"He betrayed us
And followed evil
Rather than embrace
The glory of the Holy Guide."
Seamus wanted
To speak out in Will's defence
But his mouth did not open.
It was like it had been clamped shut
Or put in a vice.
Killian went on with the list
It grew longer and longer.
In fact it seemed to
The other three
That the whole village was to die.
"Finally" Killian said with authority
"Faye is also doomed
The Holy Guide wants rid of her
For she cannot hear it
And finds her solace
In the evil Power Haunt.
Therefore she is led by evil
And thus is evil herself."
At this Trixie could hold no more
And decided to let it rip.
"Killian you idiot." She cried out.
"Have you forgotten how
You helped Faye in the past
And helped me also.
Do you truly think Faye is evil?
Faye who blushes to all,
Faye who would apologise
For hurting a butterfly,
Faye who would never say
A mean thing to anyone
Even her own father
And we know how he treats her."
Killian simply dismissed
Trixie with a wave of his hand.
"Looks are decieving I see." He smirked
"For you clearly let sentiment
Cloud the very judgement
That the Holy Guide had given you."
"All I am doing is following
The Holy Guide's wishes
To save Karmia."
Trixie shook her head.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"For it seems nearly everyone
Who lives in Karmia
Is doomed according to your
Holy Guide.
"Are you not wondering
About that vision that you had
Before we left?
Are you not thinking anymore?
For it seems that you will cause
The very violence and suffering
That you initially sought to prevent."
Author's Notes: Back after a long absence due to technical difficulties. I plan on finishing this so no parties yet if you think this is crap.
