Ethereal (Part 37) Faye's Fate

Age Group: Adult
Faye was seated
At the base of the stone
That defined the Power Haunt.
The cool green surface
Was at her back
And all the world
Seemed miles away.
She was in a midst
Of absolute calm
But this calm was different
From the other times
When she had come.
Previously she had come
To gather strength needed
To face her father's cruelty
But now shehad a job to do.
She was going
To release people
From the hold of the Holy Guide
And to do that she needed
A focused and purposeful calm
Not the calm that helped
To comfort you
And keep you going
But the calm needed when
Something important
Was about to be done.
She thought of her mother
And sent her positive thoughts
How she had allowed her to live
In order to help Trixie
And many others escape
From the influence
Of the Holy Guide.
She thought the same
Of her father
Although this part was not easy.
She thought of Kathy, Trixie and Seamus
Who had gone with Killian
She gave them the strength
To face what they needed to.
She thought of Will
Who had been there
At the horrid Jared Hallows
And who had helped her
Gain confidence in herself.
She thought of the many villagers
Who knew her and greeted her
With warmth and pity.
She thought of Killian
Who had once been kind
But had been changed.
She knew it
For he was stoo before her
Looking cold and blank.
The Holy Guide was here
Angry at Faye
For Trixie's crusade
Had grown in momentum.
People were grabbing
Anything they could
To defend themselves
From being killed.
They were standing up
To the servants
A couple of which
Had deserted.
They also stood up
To Killian's followers
The number of which
Was now dwindling.
The Holy Guide was angry
Ready to blame Faye
And have her killed.
Faye knew she
Was probably going to die.
Killian was stood there
Sword in hand
While she was unarmed
And had no way
Of defending herself.
However there
Was one chance
To try and make Killian
Change for the better
Try and get him
To question a little.
Faye looked up at him
And asked
"Why do you follow
A spirit that demands
Death, misery and suffering
Of innocent people?
Is that really what you wish?"
Killian did not answer
For he was not there
The Holy Guide
Had once again
Possessed him.
"You are the true cause
Of all this suffering
And death in Karmia
For you have ripped away
My divine influence from
All of these good people.
Therefore Karmia
Has to be purified
In order to bring
My holy and sacred presence
Back towards humanity."
Faye felt a sudden pang
Of great shock and anger.
It stung like a nettle.
"How is the killing
Of so many a divine act?"
She asked, holding her anger.
"It is purification
And gets rid of those
Beyond my reach or hope.
It eliminate the stains
Upon the fabric of human nature,
You Faye are such a stain
In such a central place
That I cannot allow you
To keep on living
Tearing my presence
From people and taking away
Their experience of my glory.
You must be cut off
Before you spread to others."
These were the Holy Guide's words.
Killian said nothing.
At that point the Holy Guide
Gave Killian back his body
With these words in Killian's ears.
Faye could not hear them
But she knew what was to be.
The Holy Guide
Was testing Killian
To see if he
Was ultimately loyal
And able to do
What was asked of him.
Faye knew now
That her fate
Lie in Killian's decision,
In his hands.
Author's Notes: Thought I might end this part on a cliffhanger. There is still more to come but those of you who want to know what happens next will just have to be patient.
