Ethereal (Part 39) The Truth Revealed

by Moonlight Wolf
 Age Group: Adult

The Haunt was still In a stony silence Waiting for Killain To make his next move.
Faye waited patiently For she knew that This was down to Killian And what he chose.
She had done all she could It was now down To the wielder of the sword That was pointed at her chest.
Killian was ready To prove his loyalty To the Holy Guide But to look upon Faye For one last time Brought back many memories.
First he remembered The time he had Offered her shelter From the pouring rain. Was he about to go back On the kindness he Had shown her in the past To simply prove his loyalty?
He remembered how hard Faye had worked in the past How she had toiled For her father and mother How she had looked after The house she was raised in.
Killian remembered Faye's placid and gentile nature The way she had always been nice Even to those who Did not return her kindness.
He had been like that once. What had happened to him?
Lowering his sword Killian could not bring Himself to kill her For he saw her goodness. She did not follow the Holy Guide But she was still nice and kind.
Had Trixie not been Put into a horrible depression By the very Holy Guide Who had said it would help To get rid of the suffering That Killian had seen In his vision.
Had Faye not freed her And brought back The strong willed Trixie Who made everyone laugh?
Killian was no doubt Terribly confused by The way things were. Which was the right path?
The Holy Guide Then ripped through his head. "Fool! She has bewitched you With her foul charms."
The Holy Guide however Could not finish For Killian felt a hard blow That came from none other Than a furious Will.
"How could you?" He screamed. "How could you come and Kill the innocent. Those so called servants Have gone and murdered Grissie Whom you know I was to marry."
"I rushed to her house To see if she was alright And I find the servants Of the Holy Guide Around her body. They had killed her In the name of your Oh so precious Holy Guide."
Will could hardly Keep hold of his anger For although he and Grissie Had fought and argued He had loved her With all his heart. Now those brutes Had taken Grissie away. Yet he was not done, It was time ro really Let Killian have it.
"You are such an idiot. If you see yourself as saviour. If you knew half Of what I know Then you would drop You faith in the Holy Guide Like a stone."
"The Holy Guide had Faye And many others arrested. It had them put in a horrid town Jared Hallows where We were fed but scraps To keep breath in our bodies And worked ragged, Only being allowed to sleep When we could no longer Keep ourselves awake. We were brutally treated The same way in which You are treating the people Who you have known All of your life."
"Do you truly think That you are being righteous. If so you have truly lost your mind And have become a puppet Like all of the servants Who gave us our treatment."
Killian blinked Not having a clue What Will was talking about But one thing he did know, The servants of the Holy Guide Had made a terrible mistake.
"But Grissie was not on The list of the doomed." He said aloud. The Holy Guide replied "What does that matter? It is simply one less person's faith To worry about."
Now Killian was shocked By the callous tone And felt a deep crunch in his heart. He dropped the sword, Finally realising His Guide was anything But a Holy being.
He felt so stupid and angry Mostly with himself For he had allowed Such a thing to happen.
"She has taken me away From your very soul." The Holy Guide cried out. "But she has done it far too late."
With that Killian felt His body become light As he lost it to the Holy Guide.
