Seventy two Druids and a Woof

Age Group: Adult
Seventy two Druids and a woof
came by car and not by hoof.
They gathered together at Stanton Drew.
as the time came their excitement grew.
To celebrate Beltain their desire.
And the Sun and Moons complimentary fire.
To mark the greening of the land
they assembled there hand in hand.
May King and Queen chosen by fate
united would be in fertile estate.
Crowned by leaf and flower abundant
soon to bring forth life fecundant.
Dance then we did with gay abandon
(taped music not a live band on)
In and out and round and round
The Beltain fire jumped with lots of sound.
All to soon the rite was over
and we went home and so did rover.

Author's Notes: Stanton drew is a village near Bristol in the UK. It has the only complete stone circle in England and also on area is the second largest in the UK.
