The Monster

He 's the shadow in my dreams
With hair of black and eyes of green
He's forever stalking me
He never goes or leaves me be
In my dreams every night
He follows me 'til morning light
Hungry for my body whole
Hungry for my frightened soul
Here comes the monster
Here comes the monster
Save me from him
He's come for me
The monster haunts me
In the dead of night
Save me from the monster in my dreams
He came from the shadow world
Inside the head of a troubled girl
She was lonely and afraid
Of her fear, the monster's made
He's the villain in film and game
Here to drive heroes insane
Have I fought him, yes I've tried
My own feelings I have denied
Here comes the monster
Here comes the monster
Save me from him
He's made by me
I gave him life
Through my own fear
Save me from the monster I have made
And how I fear him
Yet I know I want him
Deep within me I have found
A part of me I have kept bound
This part of me must now be known
Through the monster it is shown
He's the ego of the dark
He's the hidden in my heart
Call me damned but I can see
I am him and he is me
Here comes the monster

You won't save me from him
He's a part of me
In the dead night

He shows the way

And now I know him
I can begin to grow
