In Midsummer

Lanterns in midsummer,
Hanging from the grand oak trees,
Catch my voice on the breeze,
Throw me whispers of your love,
And I'll know who you're thinking of,
Cerise splashed across the sky,
Holding hands where we lie,
In soft grass so deep,
We gaze up where the stars keep,
A watchful eye over mortals meek,
Envious of our precious gift which they so desperately seek,
So hold me tight and say to me,
Let this moment last for eternity.
