An Alphabet of Pagans- L is for Lonely

Age Group: Adult
They sit at home
Tight lipped and stifled
With no one to discuss their beliefs with.
They do their rituals alone
And experience ecstasy as well as despair
But no one to share it with
Whether in voice or truth.
The nearest coven
Is miles away
And they have work
Or family obligations
Which keep them at home
Which limit their time
To spend with others
Who share similar beliefs.
Their only time
To give to a ritual
Or to a meditation
Comes towards the night
When fewer people
Are likely to demand their attention.
They feel frustrated
Because they do not feel able
To discuss their beliefs
With their closest
For fear of misunderstanding
Or because they simply
Just do not want to know.
So they sit at home
Tight lipped and stifled
With no one to discuss their beliefs with.
Author's Notes: I imagine a lot of Pagans go through this in general. In my case it's not down to ignorance or fear but just a lack of interest on part of my family but, oh well.
