An Alphabet of Pagans- W is for Winge Binge

Age Group: Adult
They can go on for hours on end
And there are many different types.
All who can get annoying
All who are looking for sympathy.
First there is the one
Who has had some
Misfortune or other and
Who needs to rant about it
To get it off their chest.
This is all very fine and well
But some can keep at it
For days, even weeks or months
On end.
Then there is the one
Who sees something wrong
Within a certain group
Even within their own
And they will whine and rant
About all the faults of this group
But rarely will they suggest
How this group of people
Can actually address this behaviour
And improve themselves.
Then there are those
Who suffer the too familiar
'More persecuted than thou' syndrome
And who want to wear
The persecution badge with honour
To say that they are better
Because they are treated worse
Even if this is not true.
There are also those
Who are their own favourite charity
Who will make appeals for help
Instead of trying to do it themselves
Who ask for energy
Who ask for comfort
Who weasel out of trying
To fix it themselves first.
They will use emotional appeals
And add a tear or two
Just so that people feel sorry for them.
Some are great at manipulating
And can convince themselves
As well as others that
They are at the end of their tether
And need everyone to pitch in
And do nothing to help others in return.
Such are those who winge binge
And take their suffering to the extreme
Now I must say
This poem rant is over.
Author's Notes: Okay so it isn't quite a rant. I'll admit I'm not very good at ranting as I tend to make mistakes and lose brain cells over things. There probably are some who are very good at ranting and going on a winge binge. (I knew a guy who, if ranting was an Olympic event, he'd win gold.)
