An Alphabet of Pagans- X is for X-Pagan

Age Group: Adult
They left the Pagan world
Many for different reasons.
Of course like many types
There is more than one.
First there is the genuine
Who studied and practiced
Who in the end realised
It was not for them.
They could tell you easily
And also politely
Why they left
And why it wasn't for them.
Such people are seekers
And have not found what
It is they are looking for.
May they be well on their journey.
Second is the faddish
May also be seen as
The ones who may not
Be able to take up a challenge.
They leave when they
Get bored or have to
Face up to something that
Is difficult to accomplish.
Such do not really care
Much about spirituality
They just want to have
A few fun games.
Then there is the fake
Who never got into Paganism
Who never really studied
Who never practiced.
Many of these are fundamentalists
Who go around claiming
That Pagans do sex and drugs
And anything else that they
Consider to be 'devil worship.'
These people can easily
Be exposed for the frauds they are
For they will have little
Knowledge or understanding
Of what the Pagan religions
Are all about and
Various Pagan codes of ethics.
There will be those who leave
Let them be happy
Whatever they find
But if you do leave
Don't go around lying
About your former religion.
Author's Notes: X is hard. This focuses on those who left. Genuine leavers I'm okay with but those who leave and then go arund lying about what Pagans practice have seriously got some issues. The problem with the 'Ex-Pagan turned fundie' is that they feel the need to slander because other fundies will believe them because they want to believe them and if they claim to be Pagan then this will 'validate' what they think about Paganism.
